The One Where We Move to Snohomish
Our move to Snohomish was born in chaos. To say it was stressful, would be an insult to the word stressful. Did we need another reminder of our own resilience? Absolutely not. But there it was.
Nearly a year ago, my partner, Aaron, and I planned our move together. Then “life” happened and a year of commuting back and forth between Bothell and Lake Tapps became a daily reality. In December of 2022, I moved my real estate business from a Windermere office in Puyallup to a John L. Scott office in Mill Creek, with a sister office in Everett. Office meetings now meant about 2.5 hours of sitting in traffic, car sickness (yes, even when driving), spending too much on Starbucks (woopsies) and long, long days to avoid evening traffic. I worked multiple days up north, and then took open houses in the Snohomish area on weekends. Those same weekends, Aaron came down south to me as I commuted.
The opportunity to finally move in together presented itself with almost no notice- no packing, no organizing, approved for the new place in literally less than 48 hours- like I said… chaos. We never necessarily planned on moving to the city of Snohomish. However, that’s how the cookie crumbled, and for all of the chaos- I definitely wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Having previously lived in Lake Tapps, Sumner, and Orting, Snohomish is like a blend of all of them- but multiplied. The lakes and country are wide, the historic downtown seems massive and the farms are even more of an attraction than those in Orting. For a small town, I feel like an even more “Small Towner”.
My goal with this blog is to get to know the area. To find the places, dining, parks, shopping, small businesses that are worth the hype and to share my journey while doing so. Hopefully I make some friends and connections along the way, because I also know… next to no one. #movingproblems
I hope you enjoy this little journal & the hopeful connections we can all make along the way as a community!
home. sweet. home.
Follow below on my little photographic journey through Snohomish a few weeks in to being a Snohomish resident.
While we’re still navigating unpacking, organizing and purging, we’re finally getting into the swing of things. The little one has started school in town, I discovered the gluten free bakery (thankgoodnesssss) and my man is so excited to show his muscle car in the Snohomish Classic Car & Hot Rod Display show this Sunday, September 24th!
We hope to see you around and are looking forward to becoming a valuable part of the Snohomish community! Feel free to check out my “About” page for more information on what’s to come & to throw me some tips about events and places I need to see!
