Foggy Fall Walk in Downtown Snohomish
Hot coffee. Clinging fog. Pumpkin spice candles. Warm fluffy blankets. Crinkly gold leaves. Today had it all! After I dropped off the little one at school this morning, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to walk around our neighborhood and head downtown with my camera. While some people love their summer sun and lemonade, I seem to unfurl during the fall- an IV of coffee and a dusting of cinnamon fueling my every move.
It seems like it’s only been a week or two since the weather has truly shifted to fall, yet this morning was especially brisk. Despite the chill, Snohomish is a great little walkable town if you’re in the historic area or near First Street. There’s no shortage of unique & beautiful Victorian and Craftsman homes to ogle and the townsfolk have a knack for gardening. Most are left a little wild- springing with dahlias, coneflowers, zinnias and the last of the sunflowers. The streets are crunchy with leaves and scattered with spikey walnuts and the squirrels collecting them.
I clocked about 1.8 miles on my walk through town today. Of course, I made a stop for a pumpkin bread & a latte from Grain, the gluten-free bakery, my new favorite haunt! As I finished my stop for coffee the fog had just started to burn off. It transformed into a beautiful sunny, yet still cool, fall day. I hope you enjoy a little film journey through the fog- be sure to watch out for the spiderwebs and their occupants!

Thank you for those who read along! I’ve enjoyed this opportunity to get to know Snohomish. It’s only been 4 weeks since our move and I’m feeling more and more at home and even more in love with this idyllic town.
